Lee’s offensive performance has been inconsistent across different levels. In 2024, he batted .308 with a .471 on-base percentage in Low-A Lakeland, but his average dropped to .250 in High-A West Michigan and further to .156 in Double-A Erie. He has struggled against higher-velocity pitching, batting just .150 against fastballs in Low-A, and his strikeout rate increased as he advanced levels.
Power – 40
Lee possesses modest power potential. In 2024, he hit 5 home runs across 68 games in various minor league levels, with a slugging percentage of .395. While he doesn’t project to produce significant in-game power, there’s enough strength in his bat to keep pitchers cautious.
Speed – 60
Speed is one of Lee’s standout tools. He stole 35 bases, showcasing aggressive and intelligent baserunning that pressures opposing defenses. His home-to-first times are around average, but he displays plus speed once underway.
Defense – 55
Lee demonstrates strong defensive capabilities, particularly in the outfield. He shows good reads and range, making him capable of handling center field duties effectively. Lee is also capable of handling both corner spots.Â
Arm – 60
A former pitcher, Lee possesses a strong and accurate throwing arm, which we saw him live, get a few outfield assists. His arm strength allows him to make precise throws, deterring baserunners from taking extra bases.
Overall Outlook
Patrick Lee’s journey from NAIA baseball to the Tigers’ organization is commendable. His speed, defensive prowess, and arm strength are notable assets. However, to progress to higher levels, he needs to improve his hitting consistency, particularly against advanced pitching. If he can enhance his contact skills and adjust to higher-level pitching, Lee has the potential to serve as valuable organizational depth, with an outside chance of contributing as a fourth outfielder at the major league level.
