Physical Description

Carson Rucker is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed infielder. Born on June 27, 2004, he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of Goodpasture Christian School in Madison, Tennessee. Rucker possesses a projectable frame with room to add strength, which could enhance his power potential as he matures. ​

Hit – 30

In his brief professional debut, Rucker demonstrated a solid approach at the plate, showcasing good plate discipline and the ability to make good contact and showed a good eye at the plate. Would have to see how he does against advance pitching but room to grow as ability goes here. 

Power – 55

Rucker has shown flashes of raw power, with the potential to develop average game power as he adds strength to his frame. His swing mechanics and bat speed indicate the ability to drive the ball to all fields. ​

Speed – 40

Rucker possesses average speed, which is expected to decline slightly as he fills out physically. His athleticism allows him to be a competent base runner and cover ground defensively. ​

Defense – 45

Initially a shortstop in high school, Rucker is projected to transition to third base as he matures. He has displayed solid defensive instincts, reliable hands, and the potential to be an average defender at 3rd base.
