Game notes:

The Mud Hens entered tonights game against the Cubs trying to even up their record at 18 a piece after starting off 5-16 on the year. The first three innings were filled with mental blunders on the base paths and the field between Iowa and Toledo, was turned upside down in the top of the 4th inning when the Cubs put up a 7 spot. The Mud Hens struck out 11 times and walked 6 batters. Colin Fields had a lackluster debut giving up 7 runs in 1.2 IP. Toledo collected 4 errors on the night, including 2 from Hao-Yu Lee and a catchers interference from Brian Serven in a potential double play situation. Riley Unroe pitches 2 scoreless innings to give him 6 scoreless on the year as a position player.

Game Notes:

The SeaWolves played a team effort in today’s matchup against the Curve. 7 different players recorded a total of 12 hits. Erie entered the bottom of the 8th inning down 3-2 against Altoona before Ben Malgeri hit a game tying double. Going into the bottom of the 9th tied, Danny Serretti hit a leadoff double to set Trei Cruz up for a game winning single. Erie moves to 20-10 on the season.

Game Notes:

West Michigan fell short to the Lugnuts in a close, but sloppy game on the field. Andrew Jenkins carried the weight on offense, recording 3 hits including a double. Erbe, Adametz, and Weins, combined for 4.1 IP scoreless innings after Rayner Castillo threw just shy of 5 innings. The field recorded 4 errors, including 2 by shortstop John Peck. West Michigan falls to 18-12 and ties the Lugnuts in the Mid East standings.

Lakeland Flying Tigers (Single-A)

Game Notes:

The Flying Tigers took on top baseball prospect Konnor Griffin and the Marauders. Lakeland scored 4 runs in the 2nd inning to provide them a comfortable cushion for the remainder of the game. 7 out of 9 hitters in the lineup recorded hits with all but one being singles. Lakeland remained patient at the plate, walking 7 times. Sawyer Gipson-Long made his first start of the year apart of a rehab assignment after having Tommy John surgery last season. Luke Stofel made his presence on the mound known, throwing 5 innings and giving up one unearned run. Lakeland is 17-13 on the season.

Game Notes:

It is the month of May which means it is time to start up some Complex League baseball. Many younger Tigers prospects are just starting off their season this week including 2023 8th round draft pick, Jatnk Diaz who made his first start of the season striking out 6 in 3.2 innings pitched. The Tigers fell short to the Blue Jays including although Enrique Jimenez hit his first home run of the season.
