The top of Toledo’s order combined to go 0-for-14 but the rest of the lineup absolutely mashed. Eduardo Valencia made headlines by knocking a base hit to right field in the eight inning to complete the cycle. Game notes:

Tonight’s starting pitcher, Garrett Burhenn got roughed up a bit by Richmond but was backed up by a spectacular offensive performance. Four SeaWolves hit home runs, including notable prospects Max Anderson and Josue Briceno. The bullpen held down the fort well enough for the offense to score two runs in the bottom of the eight inning to take the lead and win the ballgame. Erie is 62-42.

2024 13th round draft pick Lucas Elissalt made his High-A debut tonight and brought over his success he accumulated thus far in Lakeland. Elissalt was an out shy of a quality start but was pulled after throwing 86 pitches. Patrick Lee ran well on the base paths and swiped his 21st and 22nd stolen bases for the Whitecaps this year. West Michigan is 71-33.

Tomorrow’s projected starters: Jose Oliveras (5-3, 4.19 ERA) vs Hayden Minton (3-2, 4.63 ERA)

Late offseason addition, Jose Urquidy made his second rehab start and threw a scoreless inning against Bradenton. Stephen Hrustich knocked around three hits and was a home run short of the cycle in an impressive performance. The Flying Tigers gave up eight early runs but were rock solid in the second half of the game. Lakeland tried to best to spark a massive comeback but fell short. The Flying Tigers are 64-38.
