Toledo Mud Hens (Triple-A)

Game notes:

The Mud Hens are 65-53 on the season now, and have won 8 of their last 10. Troy Watson got the start for the Hens today and had another nice outing with a final line of 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, and 2 K. His fastball touched 97, and his sweeper induced a whiff with a 35% CSW. Alex Lange induced 3 whiffs with his “death ball,” and his command looked better today as he continued his rehab assignment. Max Anderson hit his second AAA home run today, as slug seemed to be the trend for the Hens today with 8 extra base hits in today’s game.

Erie SeaWolves (Double-A)

Game notes:

Sears took the bump for the SeaWolves today and had a final line of 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, and 7 K. The Baysox ended up scoring two more runs, but it was not enough as the Seawolves’ offense showed up today. Jake Holton started the party with a homer in the top of the first, scoring two. Mendoza joined the homer party in the top of the sixth to tie the game 3-3. Malgeri started the top of the ninth with a double, and Serretti singled to make it a 4-3 game. The Baysox came back in the ninth, though, and the game went 12 innings. Max Clark singled in the top of the 12th to score Stephenson, and ended up scoring to make it a 7-5 game, which would be the final. The Seawolves are 66-45 on the season.

West Michigan Whitecaps (High-A)

Game notes:

Castillo got the start for the Whitecaps today and had a final line of 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K. He was followed up by Adametz who pitched 2 scoreless innings, Fields who eventually got the win pitched 3 scoreless innings, and Wins and Lequerica finished out the final 2 innings. The offense got started with a Brookman RBI in the top of the second, then Pacheco homered to score two in the top of the third. Brookman had another RBI in the top of the fifth on a sac fly, scoring the fifth and final run for West Michigan. The Whitecaps are now 77-34 on the season.

Lakeland Flying Tigers (Single-A)

Game notes:

Not much to talk about on the offensive front today as Lakeland was shut out. Urquidy started for the Flying Tigers today as he continues his rehab assignment. He had a final line of 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1K. Locklhart followed up with 2.2 innings of scoreless baseball, surrendering 3 hits and 2 BB with 3 K.

DSL Tigers 1 (Rookie Ball)

Final: Tigers 7 – Mets 1

Game notes:

Ortiz had a really nice start for the Tigers today and pitched 5 innings of 1-run ball. Valerio closed out the final two innings scoreless. The offense wasted no time getting started on a few singles and a home run, then another single to make it 5-0 Tigers by the end of the first inning. The DSL Tigers-1 are now 24-27 on the season.

DSL Tigers 2 (Rookie Ball)

Game notes:

Rodriguez got the start for the Tigers today and had a final line of 3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, K. Cruz had an excellent scoreless inning of relief with a strikeout, and Coba completed the final three innings with a line of 3 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K. As for the offense, they got started in the top of the first on a groundout and a single to score 2. Cris Rodriguez reached on a fielder’s choice in the top of the third, scoring Enny Rodriguez. Miranda singles to score Moya and make it 4-0 Tigers. They scored two more in the top of the fourth, and one more in the top of the seventh on a sac fly by Cris Rodriguez. The DSL Tigers-2 are now 22-28 on the season.
