The Mud Hens completely dismantled the Red Wings today. Toledo relied on extra base hits to score their 16 runs. Akil Baddoo lit up the box score with three extra base hits and being directly involved of half of the team’s runs while swiping a few bases. Trei Cruz continues to exceed expectations and Eduardo Valencia’s hot streak is flaming. Troy Watson recorded his third win on the season. Toledo’s playoff hopes are very much alive at 69-54.

Max Clark had the day off in a game in which the SeaWolves played a tight one against the Senators that ended in a walk-off base knock from Carlos Mendoza. Andrew Sears found his footing on the bump for Erie tonight. He threw an exciting five innings of work that resulted in only one run given up and seven batters sent walking to the dugout. Erie is 68-49.

Rayner Castillo did not let recent struggles on the mound prevent him from throwing six innings of scoreless baseball. Izaac Pacheco hit his 14th home run of the year, a solo splash in the fourth inning to solidify his spot in Erie next season. Hard throwing Venezuelan, Moises Rodriguez shutdown the door against the Lugnuts to make the record for the Whitecaps an unbelievable 81-35.

Ricardo Hurtado’s performance was worth the price of admission alone. He sent his 8th and 9th home run of the season over the fence today. Zach MacDonald hit his 4th home run of the field for Lakeland in the 2nd inning. Jorger Petri suceeded Luke Stofel out of the bullpen and struck out six batters in three innings of work. The Flying Tigers completed an organizational sweep and are 68-47 on the year.
