Detroit Tigers prospect Adam Wolf having a strong second half for Erie

The Erie SeaWolves are loaded with some of the top pitching prospects in the system. With all the call-ups from West Michigan, that would lead to role changes for several pitchers on the staff. Adam Wolf, who the Detroit Tigers drafted in the fifth round in the 2018 draft, has adapted well into his new role out of the bullpen.
For his first eight appearances, Wolf was in the rotation. In 30.1 IP of work, he posted an ERA of 3.26, with a K per 9 of 10.98, BB per 9 of 5.93 and a WHIP of 1.57 (37K 20BB). To the start of the season, there was already a change in his delivery from his time in a Whitecaps uniform.

This is from April 20th. His arm goes from a high 3/4 angle to a mid-angle 3/4. But the changes continued. See below on the side to side. He is much faster in his delivery and looks to be slightly more down. He hit 95 last night with his fastball and displayed an impressive cutter on right-handers.Â

In 36 innings of work with a pair of starts, he has an ERA of 1.75, K per 9 of 8.75, BB per 9 of 1.93 and a WHIP of 1.00 (35K 7BB). The results of his changes are showing at the right time for Erie.
[…] Wolf has plenty of experience starting, but late in the year he became the left-handed bullpen complement to White. He’s a tall, lanky southpaw with a low-3/4 arm slot and a full arsenal of pitches, […]
