The starting lineup as a whole collected 22 hits, and everybody got a hit, including Bennett Lee who came in for the Tigers only All-Star futures game player, Thayron Liranzo, to relieve him from the heat behind the plate. Seth Stephenson and Peyton Graham combined to go 9-for-16, scoring five runs and driving five in as well. Not only did Peyton Graham collect six hits, but he stole his 44th bag of the season. Erie is now ten gams above .500 at 43-33.

Game notes:
The Whitecaps and the Captains faced a day after a pitching slobberknocker, where 31 total runs were scored. Ben Jacobs was able to limit Lake County to one run through the first three innings, but faced trouble in the fourth. He gave up four hits and three runs until Luke Stofel was able to come in and clean up the mess. In the bottom half of the fourth, Andrew Sojka hit his fifth home run of the season to the bullpen in right-center field. The Whitecaps entered the bottom of the eighth down 7-4, but took complete control, scoring six runs thanks to six walks and a hit-by-pitch, allowing Jalen Evans to shut the door down in the ninth inning. West Michigan is now 31-44 and will be back tomorrow evening.
Tomorrow’s projected starters: Will McCausland (2-3, 4.43 ERA) vs Lucas Elissalt (1-4, 4.83 ERA)

FCL Tigers (Florida Complex League)
Final: Tigers 8 – Yankees 9
Top Performer(s):
Steven Madero, 1B – 2-for-5, R, RBI
Cris Rodriguez, CF – 0-for-2, 2 R, 3 BB, SB
Cristian Perez, RF – 2-for-4, R, 5 RBI, HR, BB

Jhonan Coba – 1.1 IP, 5 H, 8 ER, 5 BB, 2 K, Loss
Jonathan Rogers – 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Game notes:
The Tigers and the Yankees of the Florida Complex League squared away in a makeup game following yesterday’s rainout. Emerging prospect, Jhonan Coba, took the mound for the Tigers on a day that could have ended with better results. He threw 1.1 innings, allowed five hits, eight runs, and two home runs. He struggled to find the strike zone, walking five batters. A 5-0 deficit didn’t stop the Tigers from making a comeback. Down 9-2 entering the top of the seventh inning, Cristian Perez stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and launched a grand slam to the opposite field. Later that inning, Enderson Delgado hit a home run of his own, a 2-run shot. The game was eventually called in the top of the ninth and two outs due to inclement weather. Something to keep an eye on: Last year’s 34th overall draft pick, Michael Oliveto who is returning from a toe fracture, allowed nine stolen bases on nine attempts. The FCL Tigers fall to 19-24 and play the Yankees again tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s projected starters: TBD vs TBD
