Parker Meadows

Physical Description: Tall and well proportioned, with good muscle throughout his athletic build. Frame reminiscent of a shooting guard in basketball.

Hit: 45

Demonstrates a good knowledge of the strike zone and above-average pitch recognition. Shortened his swing last year and is now much quicker to the ball. Handles breaking balls well and is now capable of turning on premium velocity and spraying line drives to all fields. Really struggles against left-handed pitching, with elevated strikeout rates and little in the way of patience or power.

Power: 50

Shows plus raw power that he finally started to tap into last year. Will hit some moonshots to right field, and can go deep to center, with the occasional opposite-field home run. His swing is still geared for line-drive contact though, so power production is likely to stay around average. 

Speed: 65

Consistent plus run times from home to first, and is a plus-plus runner underway. Has become an above-average base stealer, though he’s selective and is still refining his technique. Gallops around the bases and uses enormous, graceful strides to glide around center field.

Defense: 55

Projects to be an above-average center fielder, thanks mostly to his speed and range. He doesn’t have otherworldly instincts, but can make up for missteps with his lengthy strides, and his arm works in all three outfield spots.

Arm: 55

Above-average arm strength from center, and can handle right field as well. Accurate and usually makes the right throws.

Overall: Meadows always had five-tool potential, and he finally started realizing it last year. He projects as an average MLB outfielder with 20-20 upside, though his issues with left-handed pitching may force him into the strong side of a platoon situation. Even if that happens, his power, speed, and defense would likely still get him into 140+ games a year.
