Toledo Mud Hens (AAA · International League) — W 17-7 at Syracuse · 2-4
The Toledo Mud Hens pounded out 17 runs in a road blowout of the Syracuse Mets, with the offense firing on all cylinders from top to bottom.
Gage Workman led all hitters with three hits and two doubles, while Max Clark continued to show why he is one of the most watched prospects in the system, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. Wenceel Pérez, Jace Jung, and Trei Cruz each crossed the plate three times, and Eduardo Valencia and Corey Julks each added a pair of hits to keep the crooked numbers coming.
Bryan Sammons got the start and worked into the fourth before giving way to a bullpen that locked it down. Cole Waites was the standout out of the pen, spinning two clean innings to close out the laugher.

West Michigan Whitecaps (High-A · Midwest League) — W 1-0 at Lake County · 1-0
The defending Midwest League champions made it four straight season-opening shutouts, blanking the Lake County Captains 1-0 in front of 2,289 fans at Classic Park on Thursday night. The ‘Caps have now outscored opponents 11-0 in their last four openers — the last time anyone scored against West Michigan on Opening Day was back in 2022, per the Whitecaps PR department.
Woody Hadeen was the offensive story, going 4-for-5 as the only multi-hit performer from either side all night. The lone run came in the fifth when Garrett Pennington punched a two-out RBI single into the outfield to score Hadeen and give West Michigan all it would need.

Hayden Minton was untouchable yet again against Lake County, spinning four hitless innings with five strikeouts to open his 2026 account. Carlos Lequerica — who went 8-0 last season — earned his first win of the year, and Logan Berrier capped his Whitecaps debut by striking out the side in a clean ninth to lock up the save.
