Toledo struggled on the mound today, giving up double digit runs in a 10-7 loss. Several MudHens had good days at the plate despite the loss.

TMLR’s 13th ranked prospect Jake Miller straight dominated the Harrisburg Senators today, firing 4 innings of one hit ball with 3 strikeouts and one walk. Miller mixed in all his pitches and according to a wonky radar gun, sat anywhere from 52 mph to 93 with the heater.

Game Notes:

Erie jumped out to a 4-0 lead after five to lead the way to a 5-2 victory. Jake Miller paced the SeaWolves pitching staff with 4 scoreless innings, while Erie got a balanced attack from the offense with 6 of the 9 batters recording a hit.

Up Next:

Erie (3-0) will travel to Chesapeake for a 6 game set next week.

2023 10th rounder Andrew Sears had a solid start to his 2025 season today, going 4 innings while giving up just one run on 3 hits and a walk with 6 strikeouts. The crafty lefty was around the zone all game, showcasing solid command of his arsenal.

Game Notes:

West Michigan crawled back from a 2-0 deficit with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th, and again crawled back from a 6-3 deficit with a Max Clark 3-run shot in the bottom of the 8th, before ultimately walking off on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th to win 7-6.

Up Next:

West Michigan (3-0) will head to Lake County for a 6 game series starting Tuesday.

 

Lakeland Flying Tigers (Single-A)

2023 9th rounder Hayden Minton straight dominated the Tampa Tarpons today, firing 4 innings of no hit ball with 7 strikeouts. Minton was sitting 92-95 with the sinker and four-seamer while mixing in some cutters, curveballs and changeups to keep Tampa off balance.

Game Notes:

Lakeland won a nailbiter today, hanging on for a 6-5 win after being up 5-0 in the 6th. Hayden Minton led the way for the Flying Tigers pitching staff, with Blair Calvo picking up the two inning save.

Lakeland (1-2) heads home for a 6 game series next week against St. Lucie.
