Wilkel Hernandez continues his strong start to the season posting 5 scoreless innings for the Mud Hens. The second half of the order carried the weight in The Glass City today going a combined 9-for-20, scoring 4 runs and knocking in 3. The big story being Jahmai Jones hitting a walk off single with 2 outs left in the 9th inning to give Toledo their 8th win of the season.

The SeaWolves were limited to only 5 hits against the Senators and going 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position. Top line rotation piece Jaden Hamm was on the bump for Erie and struggled heavily getting knocked out of the 3rd inning giving up 4 runs on only 53 pitches. The SeaWolves move to 12-6 on the season.

Game Notes:
West Michigan gets diced up at the plate only putting together 3 total hits in a low scoring affair between both teams. The Whitecaps only had 7 batters reach first base all game with no extra base hits. Josue Briceno entered the game with a 14 game hitting streak but went hitless on the day. The powerful left hander’s on base streak continues with a walk today allowing him to reach base in all 16 games he has played this season. On the pitching side, Andrew Sears threw a gem throwing 5 scoreless innings, striking out 4 and only allowing 3 hits and showcasing excellent stuff. West Michigan slips 12-6 on the season.

Game Notes:
This game between Lakeland and Bradenton was extremely sloppy but had its flashy moments. Many top prospects assembled many highlight reels but 6 overall errors were committed in the game. The pitching staff only allowed 1 singular earned run but allowed 7 unearned. The pitching staff also committed 4 of the 6 errors on the day. On the flip side, Bryce Rainer hit his first professional home run in a stellar performance that contained 6 total bases for the young shortstop. Ricardo Hurtado hit a 2 run double and caught a runner napping at second base making his season CS% 46.2. 2024 2nd round pick Owen Hall made his best start of the young season, throwing 3 scoreless innings and showcased a new delivery on the pitching rubber. Lakeland fell short in 11 innings and even up their record to 9-9.
