The offense picked up in the third inning after a Jim Jarvis walk, a Trei Cruz single, Max Anderson single, and a Thayron Liranzo home run to deep LF. Jake Holton followed up with a back-to-back home run of his own. In the top of the eighth, Thayron Liranzo got things started with a walk, Jake Holton doubled, Chris Meyers walked, and Thayron Liranzo scored on an Eliezer Alfonso sac fly. Roberto Campos walked to continue the inning, and Jim Jarvis doubled, scoring Holton and Meyers, making it 8-5 Erie. Yosber Sanchez tossed 1.1 innings of relief for the save, inducing soft contact with a strikeout and one BB.

Andrew Jenkins kicked things off in the top of the second with a home run, and Isaac Pacheco doubled followed by a Jack Penney single to put the Caps up 2-0. Abel Bastidas tripled to score Penney and make it 3-0. In the top of the fifth, John Peck singled, Brett Callahan tripled, and Andrew Jenkins doubled to make it 5-1 Caps. The bats continued hot in the ninth inning, with singles from Abel Bastidas, Seth Stephenson, and John Peck. Callahan walks, Graham walks, Penney walks, and Bennett Lee doubles, making the final score 10-2.

Lakeland scored in the bottom of the third on a Bryce Rainer ground-rule double (111.2 MPH EV, 33° LA), and Woody Hadeen scored on a Montilla ground-out. In the bottom of the sixth, Patrick Lee doubled (102.6 EV, 28° LA) and the Flying Tigers proceeded to walk a total of seven times (eight if you include 1 HBP) (Gil, Delgado, Hadeen, Rainer, Montilla, Pennington, Gil HBP, Delgado) and ended the inning up 8-4. Zack Lee had a dazzling relief outing and got the win as he surrendered only 2 hits in 4 IP with 4 Ks. He had 8 whiffs on 51 pitches, and touched 94.8 with his 4s fastball. Woody Hadeen made a beautiful catch in CF to retire the side in the ninth inning, and the Flying Tigers win 9-6.
