Game notes:
Bryan Sammons took the ball for the Mud Hens vs the Bats this afternoon. He went four scoreless before imploding with five runs given up in the fifth inning, with a three-run shot from Hector Rodriguez being the cherry on top for Louisville. Louisville came back with a four spot in the seventh inning to take a 9-3 lead. Meanwhile on the offense, Hao-Yu Lee, who came off the injured list recently hit his first home run of the season as the designated hitter. Corey Julks hit his third long ball of the season in the third. Tyler Gentry made his Mud Hens debut and was excellent, driving in two runs and recording a double. Toledo drops to 7-10.

Game notes:
West Michigan took out the Lugnuts in Lansing today with Hayden Minton on the mound. He through four innings laced by walks and command issues but held down the fort for Carlos Lequerica to throw two dominant innings. Cristian Santana launched his first home run of the year, a go-ahead solo shot in the 6th inning. The Whitecaps were a problem on the base paths for the Lugnuts, swiping five bags in total, with Patrick Lee stealing two of his own. West Michigan plays tomorrow evening trying to take a 3-0 series lead over Lansing.

Game notes:
Troy Watson made a rehab start this afternoon as he works to get back into action. Yendy Gomez followed with a scoreless 1.2 innings pitched of his own before Ben Jacobs took the ball. Jacobs continued his hot start to his professional career by recording 17 whips, 12 of them on his rising fastball that averaged 19 inches of IVB. Onto the offense, Lakeland struggled mightily. They were no-hit through 6.1 innings before Jesus Pinto recorded a base knock. Zach MacDonald slammed a two-run home run at 113.5 MPH in the top of the seventh to take the lead, his third home run of the young season. Fort Myers tied the game up in the eighth leading the game to extras. Bryce Rainer hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth to take the lead, but Eduardo Beltre had other plans, walking off the Flying Tigers with a two-run blast in the bottom of the tenth inning. Lakeland looks to bounce back tomorrow afternoon.
