Nick Dumesnil Scouting Report
Drafted in 2025 in the 8th round out of Cal Baptist, Dumesnil stands 6’0”, 210 and is a R/R outfielder.
He hit consistently in college at Cal Baptist, and had an excellent season in the Cape Cod league in 2024, where he slashed .311/.377/.489 with 26 stolen bases, 4 home runs, and 12 doubles in just 36 games.
Dumesnil will begin his 2026 season in Single-A Lakeland.
Hit: 45
Dumesnil’s stance is slightly closed with a knee bend. His load is a small heel tap as he goes into a handsier swing that is direct to the ball with lofty bat path.
He has stated himself that he likes to be aggressive early in counts. His chase rates are higher than you’d like to see.
He has a history of taking his walks, history of strikeouts are about average.
He began to struggle against spin and offspeed in 2025 at Cal Baptist, missing around 30% of the time and those struggles carried over to his 79 PA in Lakeland as well.
Power: 45
Best bullets are low hundreds, however he can spray the ball to all fields. Power will most likely manifest itself more in doubles than home runs, although he has double-digit over-the-fence potential.
Run: 60
A plus runner with instincts on the base pads, will swipe double-digit bags.
Field: 50
An average fielder who has played in all three outfield spots, the Tigers will most likely give him every opportunity to play CF. He certainly has the speed to recover a bad first step in center, but instincts will decide where he ends up in the long run – most likely left or center because of his fringe-average arm.
Arm: 45
Fringe arm in the outfield, throws lack carry.
Overall: 45
