Jackson Wolf — 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K. Not as good as last week, but another solid outing for Jackson. For the 5th time in 6 appearances, he’s giving up 0 or 1 ERs and for the 4th time he’s struck out at least 5.

Game notes:

Toledo came out ready to win tonight. They scored the first 3 runs and the final 6 runs tonight with some power behind it. 6 of the 10 batters would drive in a run and 7 would score a run tonight. Only Bennett Lee (1 PA as a pinch hitter that was a walk) and Jame Outman (2 walks) would not register a hit. They’d have a double, 2 triples, and 2 HRs tonight to power their way to victory.

I mentioned Jackson Wolf’s start adding to the list of good starts he’s had since joining the Tigers, but Enmanuel De Jesus, Hayden Minton, and Tyler Mattison would come in relief and allow just 3 base runners and strike out 3 in 4.0 IP combined.

Eric Silva — 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K. Pitching wasn’t the strongest for the Seawolves today and Eric had the best outing of the pitchers used.

Game Notes:

This game as not short of runs today as both teams reached double digits. The Reading offense would get out to an early, big lead having at least a 3 run lead at the end of every inning from the 2nd through the 8th except the 7th. Erie would get on the board first scoring a run in the 4th and then the Reading offense would put up 4 in the 2nd. The offenses would share a few 1 running half innings until the Erie offense tied it up in the 6th with a 4 run inning of their own, which included Roberto Campos’ first HR of the year. As I mentioned though, the Reading offense would have at least a 3 run lead at the end of  almost all the innings and the 6th is included there as the Erie pitching gave up 3 runs and then 2 more in the bottom of the 8th.

Down by 4, it would seem like Erie was out of it. And then the offense would rally again. Back-to-back walks to start the inning would open the door for Roberto Campos to drive in his 3rd and 4th runs of the game with a double and he would score himself after a wild pitch and then an error by the SS. Unfortunately that’s where the rally would stall. A game ending double play would stop the comeback and down goes Erie, 11-10.

From an organizational achievement, the team now has the most stolen bases in a single season!
